Eye Design Launches Endurance Sports Branding Project – EnduroBrand
Years of planning and brainstorming have culminated into Eye Design Studio founder Chris Bradle, launching of a new endurance branding project, EnduroBrand. Finally a common sense method to marry both a love of competitive distance running with a passion for the endurance sports/outdoor industry emerged as a labor of love project earlier this year. All of this was founded in two simple questions, “What is it that you love?” and “Is it possible to do this as work?”.
Being able to answer the first question is easy – Running and Branding/Design. The second is a tougher question. Of course it makes sense that my love of design sparked the founding of a Charlotte based design studio. This addresses my first passion, but the project make up over the past 9 years has been nothing short of diverse. What I did find was as I found us working on sports oriented projects, my passion came alive and the creativity flowed like water out of a fire hose. Now how could these two passions consistently intersect?
While waiting in the transition area during a team Half-Ironman triathlon earlier this year a name hit me, EnduroBrand. Simple and straight forward. Endurance Branding. Next during a photo shoot with Mike Carroll Photography, Mike simply said, “why don’t you start a blog about running?”. Running itself is not very exciting, but the experience is.
This is where the third piece to the puzzle came into play. Last year the gas prices were crazy. That’s not news to anyone. We circulated a question around the office, “How will your lifestyle change if gas prices hit $5.00/gallon?”. My answer took some thought, but I settled in on Run Commuting. I turned a couple half-hearted sessions of the commute last year, but didn’t try to hard to figure out the logistics.
Then it clicked. EnduroBrand would launch as a blog centered around my venture into run commuting. Then as a nice added bonus, the blog would post reviews of products used during training. In the end of June the journey began, EnduroBrand went live. Now much more has happened since, but you’ll have to visit the site to see for yourself. Passion can become part of your work life!
